What To Expect

We have a saying in Indiana, "If you don't like the weather, wait 24 hours and it will change." We strongly suggest that you check The Weather Channel or similar source before packing. Early August weather in Indiana is unpredictable; it can be cool, it can be rainy, it can be hot, it can be hot and humid, or it can be hot, humid and hazy. Due to the humidity it is not uncommon to see short lived afternoon thunderstorms pop up and dissipate in less than an hour or so.

For the first 10 days of August, Evansville averages 89°F high temperatures with lows averaging 67°F. Record high and low temperatures for the first 10 days are 102°F and 51°F, respectively. Evansville receives an average of just over 3" of precipitation for the entire month of August.

Winds can vary significantly throughout the day.� Expect a mild to moderate breeze at the field, predominately from the southwest.� The launch site is one of the higher points of the surrounding fields, so the wind is more easily felt.
