FUN EVENTS

With the recent resurgence of modelers cloning Model Rockets of yesteryear, there will be 2 official Fun Events during NARAM week complimenting the previous mentioned practice. The events are Classic Rocket Event and Fantasy Craftsmanship Event. Jim Zalewski, of the now famous JIM Z website, will sponsor these two Fun Events. A prize for runner-up and winner will be awarded at the banquet on Friday evening. The awarding of prizes will give those modelers who do not enter competition at a NARAM the opportunity to compete on a fun basis and possibly take home an award for their effort. So, for some ideas on what to enter, start looking through your stash of old kits, catalogs or surf your way over to the JIM Z website at http://www.dars.org/jimz/new.htm and click away! An explanation of each event follows:

**Classic Rocket Event**
.
  1. Entry must be an out of production Model Rocket kit
  2. Launching of entry is optional
  3. Return of entry is not required
  4. Number of entries per person: 2 models maximum
  5. The Winner and Runner-Up will be decided by People's Choice Voting

**Fantasy Craftsmanship Event**
.
  1. Entry must be a Scratchbuilt model
  2. Entry must be capable of a launch and must fly successfully
  3. Entry may attempt a 2nd flight if first is DQ
  4. Entry may not exceed weight of 1500 grams or use a motor with total impulse greater than 160.00 Newton-seconds
  5. Return of entry is not required
  6. Winner and Runner-Up will be chosen by People's Choice Voting and the ability of both entries to perform successful flights

**Fun Event Awards Announced**

Jim Zalewski of "JimZ Clone Plans" has announced what awards he will provide for the winner and runner-up in each of the two Fun Events at NARAM-41.

Winner: Special Trophy and a "JimZ PlanZ" CD
Runner-up: Special Trophy and a "JimZ PlanZ" CD

Craftsman Fantasy Event:
Winner: Special Trophy and a "JimZ PlanZ" CD
Runner-up: Special Trophy and a "JimZ PlanZ" CD

(The "JimZ PlanZ" CD will feature as many clone plans from the website that Jim can fit on it in Adobe Acrobat PDF format)
